FIFA Club World Cup 2025: Special Transfer Window Opens June 1 – Big Boost for 32 Competing Teams

FIFA Club World Cup 2025: Special transfer window will run from June 1 to June 10 – Know the complete update in Hindi

The craze of FIFA Club World Cup 2025 has spread across the world, and now FIFA has increased this excitement further by making a big announcement. FIFA has confirmed that a special player transfer window will be opened for the 32 clubs participating in the tournament, which will run from June 1 to June 10, 2025. The purpose of this special window is that the participating clubs can make their squads even stronger by signing new players.

Special Transfer Window – A New Opportunity for Clubs

This special transfer window will be valid for all the clubs of the 20 member associations that are participating in this year’s FIFA Club World Cup. This means that if a club needs a new player, it can sign him between 1 and 10 June. The biggest thing is that the players who are signed during this window can be directly registered for the tournament.

Deadline for Final Player List: 10 June

FIFA has clarified that the final player list will have to be submitted by 10 June, 2025. Any new players signed must register before this deadline. This list will include players already on the clubs’ provisional list.

Member Associations sending teams

The 20 football associations sending teams to this year’s tournament include:

Argentina

Austria

Brazil

Egypt

England

France

Germany

Italy

Japan

Korea Republic

Mexico

Morocco

New Zealand

Portugal

Saudi Arabia

South Africa

Spain

Tunisia

United Arab Emirates

United States (host nation)

Brazil has 4 clubs participating in the tournament – the most of any other country. USA is sending 3 teams despite hosting.

Special Rules for England Clubs

Two clubs from England – Chelsea and Manchester City – are participating in this tournament. England’s traditional summer transfer window usually runs from 16 June to 1 September. But while the Club World Cup is going on, an additional window will be open for these English clubs from 1 to 10 June. The window will then reopen from 16 June.

This means that all affiliated clubs under the English FA can take advantage of this special transfer window – not just Chelsea or Manchester City.

Provisional and Final Squad Rules

FIFA has also set some specific rules for player registration:

  1. Provisional List – Minimum 26 and maximum 50 players (minimum 4 goalkeepers).
  2. Final List – Minimum 26 and maximum 35 players (minimum 3 goalkeepers).
  3. Only those players will be in the final list who are part of the provisional list.
  4. Clubs can make changes to their provisional list till 10 June.
  5. The new players who will sign in the window of 1-10 June, it is mandatory for them to be in the provisional list, only then they can be included in the final list.

Squad changes can happen even after Group Stage

After Group stage – i.e. between 27 June to 3 July, clubs can add 2 new players to the final squad. These additional players will not be counted in the limit of 35 players.

Important rules:

Only 6 players can be changed/added in the final list (27 June to 3 July period).

New/replacement players are not required to be in the provisional list.

If a goalkeeper gets injured or ill, his replacement will not count in this 6-player limit.

An important clause is also this – if a player changes club during the tournament, he cannot play for the new club in the Club World Cup.

Contract Expiry Clause

Players whose contracts expire on 30 June, 2025, will remain eligible for the tournament for their clubs only till that date. After that their Club World Cup participation will automatically end.
