“Voice of Balochistan: Mir Yar Baloch declares independence and demands justice from the world”

“Balochistan is not a part of Pakistan” – Mir Yar Baloch announced independence, sought help from India and the world

14 May 2025, Quetta:
Balochistan’s chief leader Mir Yar Baloch has taken a big and historical step by announcing independence for his state, separate from Pakistan. He has said that now the Baloch people will not tolerate any more oppression, atrocities, and violation of human rights. In his message on social media platform X, he has appealed to the world to respect this “national verdict” – that “Balochistan is not Pakistan.”

“You will die, we will leave, we have come out to save our noses”

My friend Baloch wrote in his post:

“You will die, we will leave, we have come out to save our noses, come join us. Baloch people across Pakistan Occupied Balochistan are now on the streets and this is their national verdict. The world cannot be a silent spectator anymore.”

This statement is not only a strong statement against Pakistan, but it is a clear indication that the Baloch people will now fight for their identity and freedom. This statement of Mir Yaar went viral instantly, where many people supported his statements, some people called it a “separatist propaganda”.

Appeal for help from India

Mir Yaar Baloch has especially appealed to the Indian media, YouTubers and nationalist thinkers to not call the Baloch people “Pakistan ke log”. He said:

“Dear Indians – patriotic media, YouTube comrades, and intellectuals of India are requested not to call us Pakistan ke log. We are Balochists. The real people of Pakistan are Punjabis, who have never faced air bombing, enforced disappearances, or genocide.”

In this appeal, he showed pain, anger and a passion which represents his struggle.

Support of India’s stand on PoJK

Mir Yaar Baloch also strongly supported India’s stand on Pakistan Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK). He said in another post:

“14 May 2025 – Balochistan supports India’s decision to vacate PoK. The international community should put pressure on Pakistan to immediately withdraw from PoK. Otherwise, Islamabad will have to face a defeat like the surrender of another 93,000 soldiers.”

He blamed Pakistan’s army generals for all this and said that people from PoK are being used as human shields.

History of Human Rights Violations

Human rights have been violated for many decades in Balochistan. Enforced disappearances, extra-judicial killings and silencing of voices of dissent have become common. Many times, both local armed groups and Pakistan’s army have been accused of atrocities.

It is also believed that media access is restricted in Balochistan, due to which the ground reality is not exposed to the world. Civilians are the biggest victims of this conflict.

Appeal for Recognition from the World

Mir Yaar Baloch has appealed to the international community to not believe the narrative of Pakistan any more. He says that Balochistan was forcibly annexed to Pakistan – an “annexation” that was carried out with the help of foreign powers.

He also says that until Balochistan is recognised as a separate country, its people will continue to fight for freedom. He has sought support and recognition from countries like the United Nations, European Union, and India.

Baloch voice loud, but the world silent

My friend, this step of the Baloch is a new turning point in the history of Balochistan. While on one hand their passion and voice is reaching the whole world, on the other hand, no major international body or country has come forward to officially support this initiative.

Now it remains to be seen whether this Baloch movement will start a new era, or will it remain just another suppressed movement.

One thing is certain – the people of Balochistan will not remain silent now.
