“Bitgate x Avalanche: Web3 wave hits India, opportunity opens up for new developers”

Bitget and Avalanche Partnership: On a Mission to Promote Web3 in India

A new and exciting development has been announced in the crypto world — Seychelles-based crypto exchange Bitget has joined hands with open-source layer-1 blockchain platform Avalanche. Both companies the ultimate aim to boost Web3 adoption in India at the grassroots level and also provide opportunities to new developers.

Focus on India’s Tech Talent

The partnership deal between Bitget and Avalanche is a major part of their Web3 growth strategies. Two large community meetups have already chosen place in where crypto and blockchain enthusiasts actively participated such as Delhi, Bangaluru. The tech talent of India is world class level. If they receive timely mentorship, grants and exposure, they can create the world’s best Web3 solutions,” the companies said in a joint statement.

Avalanche and Bitget will together launch awareness campaigns and educational workshops throughout the year under the “HODL ON” tours. Through these tours, new Indian startups will be able to showcase their work and grab new opportunities for funding and mentorship.

Focus on Blockchain Awareness and Education

Jyotsna Hridyani, head of Bitget South Asia, said, “If we want to unlock the true potential of blockchain, the first step is to provide people with accurate and accessible knowledge. We are committed to bridging this gap through community programs, university partnerships, and learning tools.”

Avalanche is also actively working on its own — working with some state governments to shift public records to its blockchain network.

Web3 growing rapidly in India

According to recent reports, India’s Web3 developer community grew 28% in 2024, and about 4.7 million new developers joined GitHub. According to the India Web3 Landscape Report (2024), if the growth continues like this, then by 2028 India will overtake the US and become the world’s largest hub of Web3 developers.

Seeing this growth, the trust of crypto and blockchain companies on the Indian market has increased even more. Noted blockchain developer, Jesse Pollak also said last year that if Indian Web3 developers get a little banking support, then they can create very innovative and useful Web3 solutions.

Regulatory Developments Are Also Underway

Now that crypto exchanges need proper licenses and registrations to operate in India, Bitget is actively working with Financial Intelligence Unit India (FIU-IND) to complete its registration process. This move shows that Bitget sees the Indian market as a long-term growth opportunity.

On the other hand, Avalanche is collaborating with government agencies so that practical use cases of blockchain — such as land records, certifications, and public documentation — can be implemented in the real world.

Growing Network of Web3 Companies

Despite the lack of clear regulations, the Web3 and blockchain sector is growing quite fast in India. According to a report by Bharat Web3 Association (BWA), Karnataka alone has more than 97 registered Web3 companies. This is followed by Maharashtra, Telangana, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.

Currently, more than 400 companies in India are working in the blockchain and crypto ecosystem, and new startups are also rapidly entering, thanks to funding programs like PwC India, AlgoBharat, and Solana Foundation’s initiatives.

What is the plan for “HODL ON” Tours?

The main goal of Avalanche and Bitget’s “HODL ON” tours is to build a bridge between Web3 startups and crypto communities. These tours will be organized in big cities like Delhi and Bengaluru as well as in smaller cities and towns so that maximum people can gain awareness about blockchain and crypto.

Major focus of workshops will be on:

Practical use of blockchain technology

Crypto safety and secure trading practices

How to apply for funding and grants

How to join global mentorship programs

At the end of each meetup, mini-grants will be given to some promising startups so that they can further develop their products and services.

A new opportunity for Indian youth

This is a golden opportunity for the young developers of India. They can get the advantage of early entry in emerging sectors like Web3 and blockchain. The sooner new developers and entrepreneurs understand blockchain and crypto fundamentals, the sooner they can establish their careers in this field.

Collaboration with global players like Avalanche and Bitget means Indian talent will get an opportunity to showcase its work on an international stage — and with the right guidance, they can become global Web3 leaders.
